100 ml (1dl) oil have an energy content of 1 kWh. According to thermo dynamics energy and work are equivalent. The work to bring up a car with the weight of 1200 kg to the top of the Eiffel tower with the height 321 meter is also 1 kWh. Concussion: 1 liter of oil can bring up 10 cars to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Of the oil we once had in the planet we havs now used about 1/3 and that is the best fraction. We are now digging into the second 1/3 that has much lower quality. The last 1/3, oil sand etc, should not be used.

The peak in the discovery was in the 1960:s and the rate is now decreasing. When the discovery was high the consumption was low and the industry had to hide reserves and this was done by using different classifications of reserves. Now we are consuming much more then we find and some the sleeping alligator will close the gap.

Giant oilfields are called “Elephants” and production in the future will be guided by these Elephants, The speech of the silent Elephants.
