Natural Gas

Natural gas is a important energy source for many countries. It is the cleanest of all fossil fuels.

The geology of natural gas is quite similar to oil, as it is formed under similar conditions. The production is analyzed and used to create models for future natural gas production.

The worlds natural gas is unevenly distributed and primarily located in three countries (Russia, Iran and Qatar). This also creates potential for political tension and energy security problems. Naturally our research on natural gas is focused on Russian gas fields, as Russia is by far the worlds largest reserve holder and largest gas producer.
