The Energy Committee at The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences

Professor emeritus Sven Kullander is chairman of the energy committee at the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. Key questions for the committee are: “How long will our present sources of energy last and which ones should we focus on in the future?”

The research by the Global Energy Systems group is important for the committee as well as the findings from the committee stimulates to new research projects.

The first project that the committee concluded was “Are oil supplies running out?” and the statement has been referred to as one of the reasons why the Swedish Government appointed “The Commission on Oil Independence”
