COLLABORATION

Dr. Colin J. Campbell has from the very start in 2003 been associated with our group and has proved to be an important industrial supervisor in our Ph.D. program. Without Dr Campbell's enthusiastic support it would not have not been possible to have developed the group in the way we have. Dr Campbell has also provided guidance in research related to Peak Oil.

Collaboration with the University of Groningen has made it possible for us to initiate research on natural gas and we are now in the process of studying future supply to Europe and there are plans to study global Peak Gas.

Coal was the next fossil fuel that required study and part of that work has been done in concert with Ludwig Bölkow Systemtechnik GmbH based in Germany. The continuation of this research program will be with China Petroleum University in Beijing (CPUB) and a variety of other Chinese research groups.

We also have an interest in energy system studies in relation to the rehabilitation of ecosystems. An initial study in this direction has been of the Loess Plateau in China with help of CPUB.

Socioeconomic development related to Peak Oil is a new research program that we are developing in collaboration with the University of Liverpool Management School and CPUB.

According to university policy all research programs must include research, links to education and what is described as the 'third mission'. The third mission is to disseminate research program objectives and results to the public, a very difficult task. Tables and numbers must be explained in the more accessible graphical form. We are indeed very lucky to have a close partner in Olle Quennerstedt, and if you wish to better understand the importance of Olle then please visit Olle Quennerstedt's website.
